Social Marketing On and Offline

I’ve been connecting on Facebook and other online social communities. All in all, it’s been fun, but will it payoff or be a total waste of time? I’m convinced that the time spent will benefit my businesses. In fact, I made thousands of dollars yesterday as a result of Facebook conference calls.
My twitter contacts have taught me a lot and helped me to find live events that I would not have known about, like the upcoming Music Tech conference in San Fransisco.
I have yet to see a monetary benefit from Linkedin. But, I have been offered two jobs from my listing. Too bad I don’t want to work for someone else. (Although, I feel like I work for a lot of people with my over commitments!)
What do I mean by “social marketing offline?” I recently went to my friend’s event in Phoenix. Although she was making money, I wasn’t selling. Or, was I? I think so. I made new friends who will come to future Book Races. After all, most business comes from people who know, like, and trust you.
I believe that the best way to promote yourself and your business is in person. So, join me at the National Speakers Association next week, at Mega Book at the end of this month (email me for a discounted ticket), or an Article Race.
I’ve found that each time I go to an event, the payoff is not only what I learn, but who I meet.
